How paranoid do you have to be to lock the bathroom door when you're poopin'? That only makes sense if you've got little kids that don't yet fully grasp the concept of privacy.

Even closing the door is unnecessary with close family. Besides, the cats like to hang out while I'm doing business.

Locking the door is the quick and easy way to signal that the room is occupied, knocking and/or asking and waiting for an answer would invariably take longer and create uncomfortable situations whenever someone doesn't remember or doesn't have the patience to wait for the answer or is just visiting and assuming that everyone locks the door when they use the bathroom.

I live in a 60 year old apartment building, there is very much not an exhaust fan. The smell radiates throughout the apartment if you don't close the door.

I live in a 100-year-old house and every bathroom is ventilated.

Idk what it is, but I think I get plenty of fiber in my diet but I still regularly have problems with this. My doc told me drinking water with the fiber is important, but I’m pretty sure I’m already drinking lots of water too. So… idk, if it gets bad enough maybe I’ll go look into it some more.

I first read that as “took his entire shift off” and thought yeah that’s not normal. Way worse than just taking your shirt off.

Could be your gut microbiome. Try eating more fermented foods and probiotics. Yogurt, kombucha, things like that.

Also, be aware of the difference between soluble and insoluble fiber. Pay attention to which one you're getting the most of and see if getting more of the other one helps.
