As I understand the effects from previous papers I've read, it has an immediate change to neuroplasticity which allows you to be present for a time after dosing. So I thought this went without saying. But, glad for any codification that might help relieve anhedonia, depression or even PTSD in some cases (though Ketamine seems to still have better results for PTSD). |

Shrooms are some of the most healing medicines. Sometimes it takes just one macro dose to literally cure you of something. I smoked for like 15 years then vapes for 15, and hardcore. Quit completely after one 5g trip, and haven't smoked for years since. |

I'd hardly call 5g a microdose. |

I quit smoking with an lsd trip. 26 years of smoking. One groovy night with a side of "quit smoking tonight thoughts". 4 years non-smoking, no urge. |

That is interesting considering that Iboga is supposed to cure any physical addiction in on trip. Iboga is a plant from central africa. It is not only psychadelic, it hits other receptors sideways, including the opiate ones. Not a strong hit on the latter. One trip on Iboga cures any physical addiction they say. I imagine that would not follow to steroids but more to recreationals. |

I keep waiting for it to be legal so I can buy some. Haven't had any since college, decades ago. It's so annoying because I really think it would help my mental. Fuck. |

Yeah I've been saying this for a while. Ketamine helps you "zoom out" while psilocybin helps you "zoom in" |

My understanding of it is that the psilocin sort of mimics serotonin and ends up binding to those receptors instead of your serotonin. Your brain is then all kinds of fucked up. Because of this your brain is forced to use different pathways rather than continuing to entrench your current ones - quite literally getting you out of a rut. The other bonus is that unlike other drugs like MDMA or even LSD to an extent, none of your natural chemicals are depleted. It just wears off and you're back to normal. |

I’m not sure why this has to be said. You’re experiencing a completely altered reality. How could you not be in the moment? That’s like saying visiting a new place makes you more present. |

It was as you said, quite literally like that in my experience the first time taking shrooms with a friend. We were getting me out of a very deep rut/early grave and I don't think it would've been possible without tripping combined with an intelligent friend who gave a shit. |

Read the article. It's describing how your neural pathways are activated by psilocybin, not what the subjective experience reveals. |

Maybe they are referring to ibogaine as a partial agonist for opioid receptors. "Hits receptors sideways" is an odd and incorrect way of stating that though |

The iboga effects were studied scientifically back in like the 60s and then added as a schedule 1 narcotic making researching it nearly impossible. But you can read all about it by typing that same query into a search engine, that is assuming the search engine will bother to give you what you are asking for. Yes, many plants hit opiate receptors sideways. Kratom hits the kappa's, but will break through to the deltas in large doses, (a very unpleasant effect with kratom,) while the aphrodesiac Yohimbe, also from equatorial africa, hits some of the side receptors. Then there is what's it called, another one too from africa. Salvia Divinorum as well. That is a very short list, I think some of the solanaceaes even have a side hit on receptors but I might be wrong on that one. |

What are you actually referring to though? Was I correct that you are implying that it is a partial agonist? "Hits the receptor sideways" may be common pseudoscientific jargon, but it means nothing within the context of neuroscience or neuropharmacology. So, to clarify, what exactly do you mean by it? |

I explained this in another response. I will not explain again because I think you are acting like a [redacted,] and as such suspect you are one of those people with nothing to contribute so you just look for people to put down, and choose half baked reasons to do so. Frankly you don't warrant a respone, you half wit supporters either. |

Something may have gotten lost in the mix. You are taking a very defensive stance, when I asked a neutral question. I looked through your responses, and at no point did you clarify what you actually meant by the phrase "hits the receptor sideways". I'm pretty sure you are referring to the fact that it is a partial agonist, and all I requested was that you clarify if that was the case. I apologize if that somehow put you on your heels. That said, there is no need for name calling or projecting ill intent. Thank you very much |

Common parlance, not speaking scientifically, is not pseudoscience for starters, and that you think it is says a lot about the wisdom of even further responding to you here. |

The article bases the discovery on an assumption that I guess I’m unfamiliar with, that shrooms make your brain chaotic. In my experience, shrooms just change the way I am perceiving things. Part of the affect is that it dulls the some of the function in your brain to know what is novel and what is well understood. So it makes sense that you would be more engaged with the world around you if everything is new. |
