Especially if it's facing away from the street.

Until the trash gets picked up.

This is a standard thing for many years, it's not new.

I’ve had Amazon just put my delivery straight in the recycling bin, the morning of collection.

Exactly where amazon packages belong.

I don't think rest of the world leaves packages on your front porch. You either receive it personally or go to the post office. Never understood why they just leave it out in the open in America.

No they do the same in the UK now. They're not really meant to, but they absolutely do. Package behind the bins or in the bins is very normal here

I'm in Australia and they just leave it on the front doorstep. Luckily I'm always home so I can pick it up, but I'm surprised more packages don't get stolen in general

This user complained about the OP. The thread starter posts content from reddit here. His argument is that Lemmy is dead without users posting interesting content, so he scrapes reddit and posts it here. Some users don't like content from reddit here and would prefer only natural user interaction. OP says, if that were the case the entire Lemmy network would be basically empty.

Same in Germany, even in apartment complexes. Either they put it at your door or just put it right next the the fucking main door under the letterboxes. I had a delivery that got stolen because of it.

Nothing beats the one time where the Amazon driver just put everything for everyone at the main door. Outside. In the city.

Doesn't it also kind of imply the original complaining user is hypocritically using reddit themselves? How else would they know? And secondly, why do they care so much, because they had to see meme twice? Reddit was full of reposts and lemmy to an extent is too if you overlap subs to similar communities on different instances.

Idk I just don't get the whole thing. Aren't a lot of us here as an alternative to reddit anyway?

Lemmy users can be very weird when it comes to hills to die on. Every social media is federated through screenshots after all.

Personally, I would like more content and active boards, so I'm okay with the reposts because it makes Lemmy a more viable option to replace reddit and make users switch and post real content here.

Actually, when reddit started out the admins themselves had sock puppets to make it look more lively.

I had that many years ago: got a delivery notification in my mail box: "Your package was delivered to your neighbor: Package is in the green bin."

Where would you like them to leave it? You can always choose to send it to a locker if you want to go pick it up. This is such an odd compliant.

Or sent to a parcel machine near a supermarket and to pick up your package you need a code you get with sms.

I've been doing this for years. My "delivery box" is a clean trash can which says "yard waste" on it.

Amazon should take a clue from German DHL and give an incentive to hand the packages to the people.
