The brilliantly deadpan comic joins Nina Conti, Chloe Petts and Isy Suttie. Plus: A House Through Time reaches the present day. Here’s what to watch this evening 9pm, Channel 4Taskmaster is often funnier when one contestant has stagey contempt for the whole project. Step forward Richard Ayoade, who makes his intention to do the bare minimum very clear in this opener. A mere 22 seasons in, the show remains an effortlessly enjoyable way to spend an hour – the other comics making up the cohort are Chloe Petts, Isy Suttie, Nina Conti and Matt Lucas. Phil Harrison |

I'm excited for Richard Ayoade. He's just the right amount of awkward and silly, but intelligent. It will be fun to see him fail and succeed. |

He was brilliant as Jamarcus in The Watch “It's incredibly controlled, Evan. It's like he's threading a needle” |
