Even if this were true any abusive behavior by this company operating in Australia could easily be regulated by the government of Australia, this sounds like the same shit every other company in every other capitalist nation does with a heaping side of completely unverifiable claims about China to shift the blame |

@Amnesigenic@lemmy.ml Oh no, this is not capitalism. This is "socialism with Chinese characteristics" (aka the ideology with the highest degree of labour abuse in history). |

Ah yes, I'm sure the command came straight from the CPC, not business people that benefit from the private company making bigger profits. Perfectly logical, so of course the article doesn't provide any proof, I mean who would need that? |

When you build unquestionable hierarchies and concentrate power so much. You can't be meaningfully anything other than authoritarian. The Chinese people have suffered it this long because there have been some material gains in the last several decades. But China has Speed Run it's industrial revolution. And those gains have largely slowed or stopped. Coming Generations will not see the growth and benefits the ones before it and will bear resentment for the oppression. Much like what's happened most other places including the US. |

Completely agree, though I’m quite worried at how effective advance surveillance and similar technology will be at silencing and disciplining people. |

Honestly that doesn't have me too worried. They will deflock the same as anyone else when they feel it's in there interests. The one big issue I see with them specifically is the cultural oppression that's heavily employed. The family dynamic is different in many Asian cultures than in the west. But there is good and bad to that. When the state is a threat to your family you will often seek to protect them from it. Or pressure and discourage those the state has taken an interest in to protect oneself. If you have good relations with your family those are powerful chains. |

Took 3 seconds to find this, truly a hong kong "labor rights" ngo based out of London must be telling the truth right? |

Initially they wanted their headquarters to be in Beijing near Tiananmen Square, but the Chinese Communist Party rejected to provide office space for undisclosed reason. |

Likely because it would be very strange for the CPC to provide office space for a CIA front. |

Nah, the address would have been Tiananmen Square no 6 in the 4th floor 4, so 6/4. But officials said it's censored for whatever reason. It's really weird. I mean, what sense does it make to censor numbers? |

The weirdest thing is how western liberals keep trying to spin the events at Tiananmen square like they're at all relevant to the political situation today. Here's some stuff on the topic you should, but probably won't read. |

If nothing happened on June 4 in 1989, why are these numbers censored in China? Why are organizers of peaceful vigils jailed? I doesn't add up. It's horrible what the Chinese government did on that day, and what it still does. And it's sad to see that so many people fall for its disinformation and misinformation game. |

I see you didn't read the article. These questions are answered there. Engaging with you is obviously a waste of time. |

No, it is not answered there. It's really sad how many young people just parrot the fantasy stories they are given and don't even argue themselves. These people needed support to strengthen their individual personalities, but are instead exploited by a brutal propaganda machinery. It's a shame. |

It literally is. You must be extremely bad at reading. (Or just regular bad at gaslighting in bad faith) |

Very interesting, thanks for the link. Definitely something I've noticed before with specific users. |
