Getting back into the routine of things. Eldest is back in school and the youngest started reception. Both did incredibly well and fortunately there were no dramas!

I dusted out the PS4 for the first time in a long time and had to reset it as it wouldn't connect to the PSN. Been enjoying playing Sack Boy with the kids, but I'm hoping to play some GTA V and Just Cause 3 if I ever get some time where I have the energy!

Since mine left home for Uni (and now, work), I don't think my PS4 has seen any action... which I suppose means it's all mine now!

3d printer is almost complete. Spent weeks on/off setting it up, measuring, lubricating, re-measuring, searching for lost pieces, calibrating, re-lubricating. It's getting to the point where I might now even be able to start actually attaching computer hardware to it.

Started also making my own local LLM as work forced copilot on us. I resisted using it for anything other than code completion, since coding is my bread and butter, but after running late on a slew of deadlines I thought I would just try it out, and... wow yeah, I was impressed and my job suddenly became way less stressful ^[read: the inertia of jumping from one task to another, and getting up to speed on a project is now gone - I'm flying (until I'm replaced...)].

Using copilot at work makes sense, since it's all corporate nonsense, but I dont want to use it on my home projects, so I'm putting together my own tiny LLM rig based on a Jeff Geerling post

I've been having fun with my own new printer.

Got into the hobby forever ago with the anycubic Chiron..... Just got a snapmaker u1 and man alive we've come along way!

Good luck with the Local LLM.

I needed to abroad travel for work whole week and didn’t get home until late Friday night. On a plane again 7 am Monday morning. Sigh.

I went down the Voron route after getting morally blasted by a veteran after I said something positive about Bambu.... and here I still am, months later, still putting it together 🥲

It's fascinating how gate keepy people can be.
Don't get me wrong I actively chose to avoid bambu because of the lwhole improper use of open source....

But the hardware is for the most part quite solid.

I'm currently toying with the idea of converting my old printer into a laser engravar.

Oh for sure. I would love to have a Bambu as much as I'd love to own a Mac. Just can't ignore the software argument

For me spare time on home renovations and playing around with further getting away from big tech

Sounds exhausting! Do you have far to fly?

Thankfully not far these two weeks, only The Netherlands.
