Setting a language on post/comments have been a part of Summit for a while but due to it's simple implementation it was a hassle to actually use.

This update greatly improves the experience around discussion languages.

This update also adds a lot of other small features and bug fixes.

• Update tap-to-close image viewer gestures. Show/hide UI gesture has been moved to long press so that double-tap can be used for zoom in/out. This change only affects users with the tap-to-close image viewer setting enabled.
• Add link option to unwrap a proxied image url. This option is only shown if the URL is detected to be a proxied image URL.
• Change Summit to respect the repeat count in animated image formats. Eg. GIFs that have repeat once in the metadata are only played once.
• Add support for the "transfer community ownership" mod action.
• Update language chooser UI to be easier to use. Language chooser now has a search bar, and it will display up to 5 recently chosen languages.
• Add a per-account default language choice on posts/comments.
• Fix a bug where editing a post/comment will not automatically set the language.
• Fix the mention context menu opening in a random part of the screen. It now correctly opens below the item that was long pressed.
• Fix a crash when viewing an image full screen on older devices.

• Fix a crash when restoring the app when scroll between posts is enabled.
• Fix a crash when opening an image full screen when browsing a multi-community.
• Fix a rare crash that can occur when bookmarking a community.
• Fix a bug where the community icon is shown instead of the poster's icon in the post list if post layout is set to list and the user is on a specific community page.
• Fix a bug with some spoiler tags failing to parse correctly.

Summit has become my favourite browsing app! I only really have one small thing to suggest that could make it even better.
I'm browsing with NSFW posts blurred. I also have the default volume on videos set to zero. When I open a NSFW post, I have no idea if it's a video or a picture. If it's a video, it automatically starts playing with sound, regardless of the volume setting being set to zero or not.

Best would be if NSFW videos didn't automatically play when I open them, but at the very least it should respect the volume setting.

I did not realize this would be added as a comment on the release notes when I submitted it as feedback through the app. I hope it doesn't come across as complaining. I really do love the app, and I appreciate all the hard work that goes into it!

Would it be possible to add the name of the poster on this view?
I believe there's enough space for it, but I seemed to not be able to do it... =\

The "list" layout is optimized for space usage while not feeling too compact. I recommend trying the layout List (old). It should have the behaviour you want.

indeed it is... although the picture gets slightly smaller but I can live with that =D

You can adjust the size of the picture in settings. I think its something like Settings > Post feed > Appearance or something like that.

For bugs and feature requests you can either reply to a release/wip post directly or create a new post. I usually review them in batches, so it might take a week or two for me to acknowledge the feature request.

I can't reproduce this issue on my end. It might be a bug that only currents with specific combination of settings. Could you please either share your settings code here to DM me? You can get your settings code by going to Settings > Import & export settings > Copy settings for debugging.

Found the cause. Basically this is a feature. The app remembers the last volume you set across videos. There's a few solutions to this issue. Let me know what sounds the best:

1. Add a setting that disables auto-play only for NSFW videos.
2. Add a setting that mutes NSFW videos by default.
3. Add a setting to control whether the app remembers the last volume used.

Hard question! And remembering the last volume used is a nice feature. Personally I'd expect manually setting a setting (Such as setting the default volume to zero) would override anything automatic.

I'm not sure what the least intrusive option for people who prefer the current way would be, but a "Always start NSFW videos muted" setting sounds really nice! I guess my use case isn't the most common, though...

Adding a toggle for the volume memory instead might be helpful to a wider group of people, and it pairs well with the default volume setting.
