I'm going to do the JLPT N5 exam in December. I have a lot of learning tools and ebooks but I need something more fun to keep me engaged.

Would anyone have any good suggestions for mobile games to help learn Japanese?

Wagotabi

Nothing else i've tried comes even close.

They are slowly adding more content. I think the plan currently is to have all of N5 in the game eventually.

Agreed on Wagotabi, it's what you're looking for.

To add something else, https://www.renshuu.org/ has a handful of games, and can be installed as (I think) a pwa.

Second this, after years of trying many many other tools, renshuu is the best.
It has a steep learning curve but there is so much available if you take the time to figure it out.

Maybe the Learn Japanese to Survive trilogy for vocabulary memorization? They're PC games but can be played on phone with the likes of JoiPlay, Maldives Player, or running a server with Python to load the index.html file (which works as an executable).

Just to get back to you about your suggestion: I love this little game. I've been playing for a week now and it's really fun. I've actually learned a new word already lol

I tried the demo and it appears to be decent.
