Kinda looks like a walnut from afar. How does it taste?

Edit: if it's edible of course.

No idea whether it's edible; you can't eat fruits in a botanical garden :)

I think however that it consists of individual seeds, not a single structure like in a walnut

According to https://localandbespoke.com/2013/06/24/kurrajong/ :

The seeds are edible when roasted, but the fact that they come nestled into their little boat-shaped pods in a bed of irritating hairs puts a lot of people off (I’m one of those people)!

I see. :)

I just meant the texture inside though, otherwise it does look much bigger than a walnut.

By the way, the look doesn't irritate me. If it has to be roasted I wonder if it feels like nuts or dried fruits.

Thanks for the link, though a heads up, the link has an additional : at the end. From the link these look much different, I guess those are riped and the ones in the post aren't.
