Do updates count? Because I can’t download it more than I already have.

Edit: Eureka!, I found I could delete the web download version and reinstall via homebrew!

Yet, somehow can't stop putting annoying banners across the top every time I open it .....

But seriously, haven't used anything else for 20 years. Thanks!

You can install it from your distro's repos, snap, appimage, and flatpak.

This is fantastic news, I'll go search it up. Hopefully it's available on my distro without any fandangling.

Edit: It's just the most recent update to the main branch.

Does the UX still look like it was designed in 1998?

How much is that compared to normal releases. Looks more like a continuation of the normal upward trendline.

It does not look like 1998 software.

it has a few toolbar looks for you to choose from, including a ribbon-like one if that's your preference.

that's all it looks like to me..

the spike in 2019 (the big push to win10 before 7's eol jan'20) was far more significant, too.

It turns out that homebrew was the way to go!

I'm confused. Is there another release that does have AI?

This is what happens when the US forces Google drive and Microsoft to delete ICC judges' accounts, making them loose all their cloud docs.

No. They just essentially listed "we will never have AI, I guarantee it" as a feature and it was awesome.

It does if you configure it to use an icon pack from 1998 though!

Have there been any significant advances in word processor UX since then? No, these days the computer industry is more interested in ripping people off than making useful software.
