Proton has actually needed to prove they don't record anything on their VPN service, many times. Nord has never needed to prove they don't log

"Incognito mode" should be called "dumbass mode" for all the people that blithely gulped down the bullshit.

Leopards? Right this way. The faces are ready and deserving. Bon appetit!

Incognito mode is pretty much just "gimme a session without my cookies and caches".

It doesn't protect you for a moment, but it does reduce tracking ability somewhat, and is great for when a page breaks or you want two sessions to the same site.

It very well may have a few interesting settings baked in, but it was always sold as a "privacy" mode and never was, in actuality. It's paper-thin marketing bullshit, and they all knew it from the start.

I thought that was common knowledge. It's incognito for the rest of that computer's users. Who thought it was secret towards the internet?

Nord passes audits, sure, exactly what those audits are testing is up in the air.

proton actually has to show in courts on the regular that they don't have VPN activity logs and they've been forced to hand over the data stored in their users' accounts when they're issued search warrants that apply in Switzerland, but they've only ever handed out data in its encrypted form

Okay I just looked at the link to Nord's website...Nord enforces KYC , which means they're probably logging which users are online and when, even if they're not recording any activity
