Guy was a genius. Truly amazing art.

Wife died. Year later his son overdosed. Then he was stabbed to death by his caretaker's son for refusing a loan.

"I wish to paint in such a manner as if I were photographing dreams."

Dude had some fucked up dreams.

When I was young I had the fear of hell forced upon me, and I had recurring nightmares of hell, well into my 20's.

It was scary, but Beksinski's work was always so much sadder and more disturbed than whatever hellfire painted my eyelids.

This is the guy that got me interested in art. All the classics you get taught about in school were nice and all, but didn’t really do much for me. These paintings made me realize what art was capable of. I love his work.
