The headline confused the heck out of my tired brain.

Basically this kids parents are evil bastards and the kid is in protective custody with restraining orders against the parents. I am glad they are safe.

Abusive transphobic parents want to hurl horrific insults and assaults on trans kids, preventing them from eating, sleeping, studying and socialising then finally kicking them out the house underage while demanding that society never hold their actions accountable to the law.

Yup it is really bad. I was recently removed from my childhood home by an abusive parent I took care of for over 10 years because she refused to recognize me for who I am and had the nerve to accuse me of terrible things and got the police involved. Total projection as I never abused her, she was just mad at me for standing up for myself. Judge threw the case out because she had no case.

My heart goes out to this kid and all those in similar situations. I am so glad the state they are in has a safety net and protections built in place to help. I am fortunate in that I had made some contacts in the queer community here before I was unhoused and so I am getting help from complete strangers. But there are so many not as fortunate.

Fuck the transphobes and the political attack ads that feed them. The bigots in my family think hate speech is free speech and they are entitled to their "opinion". Fucking yikes.
