Things like the one on America's Next Top Model or Woodstock 99... nothing about brutal murders or politics.

Idiocracy, you don't even need to watch it, just have a look around

Searching for Sugar Man

I dream of wires was a real good documentary about early synthesizers. Including interviews with influential artists that used them. Such as Vince Clarke of Depeche Mode and later of Erasure. And Gary Numan of Tubeway Army and of course his solo project.

Disney Channel's Theme: A History Mystery by Defunctland. It's on YouTube and is a proper investigative documentary.

Defunctland is always a good watch.

Woodstock 99 was easy to watch? I found that really hard to watch, so much horrible stuff.

The Queen of Versailles is a great documentary. Fly on the wall of this super rich family who experience the 2008 crash in real time.

King of Kong about these two guys who are really good at Donkey Kong. One of them is like a cartoon villain and the other is a normal dude who happened to be great at Donkey Kong. Really entertaining watch.

Beyond Utopia about people trying to escape North Korea. Not at harrowing as it sounds and not as bleak as it could've been, worth a watch.

If you like history and have PBS, the American Experience series has a lot of really interesting and well done episodes of varying lengths. Obviously there are episodes about politics but sometimes it’s just about building a bridge.

PBS’s NOVA is free to access and covers a broad range of scientific topics.
