Oh man, Denise was such a great character, and key for helping Peter grow up. This strip really is quite remarkable. Looks-wise it's like a bazillion other popular newspaper strips (remember newspapers? D:), and the jokes are almost always easy to digest, but then if you follow along, cartoonist Amend always has a bit more working behind the scenes. Some little commentary. Some subtle point. To me, it really is a brilliant comic disguised as a more ordinary one, and that's still underselling it, I think... |
