They aren't making the latest awesome Halo for the next Xbox, they want some sloppy sad corporate approved vibe coded cheap thing that they can ship with the limited number of new consoles.

While I'm glad that Hideo Kojima's projects were picked up by Microsoft, and therefore the people at his studio will have paychecks because of that, it has to make these layoffs so much harder to take. MS just willingly picked up two projects from a guy who is chronically over budget, but they're still doing layoffs for their existing employees.
