There must have been some magic in that old bottle he found.

Bonus pts for Gallagher's typical lazy cartooning-- is it a wine bottle, a spritzer, or a condiment bottle? Naturally, it's a hybrid of all three!

Fair. I don't know those, but see the resemblance now.

I spent a fair amount of time in the parking lot of a goth club debating a pastor while drinking Boons Farm out of the bottle. Good times.

That sounds like something that pastor would do.

Pastor Dave was actually pretty cool. He never went into a debate presuming he had the right answer. He was a really good questioner of his own faith. He really was there for the conversation. More than trying to convert anyone. If someone needed help he was there. And in the parking lot of a golf club there were definitely people that needed help. But when he offered that help it wasn't "Jesus is going to save you" it was " maybe therapy could help you."

He really was one of the better ones.

Thank God. (in the figurative sense, of course)

After a night of performing karaoke on stage (and drinking), I used to work up the gumption to stroll around the Saturday morning Farmers' Market performing and interacting with folks, wearing a Muppets hand-puppet, doing their voices. It was synergistic, and seemed to amuse people. But if I didn't have this fluffing disease, then that little schtick might have been upgraded to me walking around in some sort of pastor-like garb, suggesting to people that the Flying Spaghetti Monster loved them, and wanted to save their souls. That probably would have been riskier.

Anyway, yeah, Dave sounds like a hell of a guy. Kinda reminds me of Unitarian-type pastor folk.
