Wakamotoharu puts a hard right forearm in Tobizaru's face off the lines and locks up a left yotsu he uses to twist the Monkey down. He looked a bit stunned there, maybe due to the initial blow. Slow tachiai for both Shishi and Shonannoumi who gets a weak front belt right grip but Shishi shoves under Shonan's left armpit and passes the arm by to get a deep underarm grip and walks him out. Ura's regular low tachiai can't prevent Toshinofuji's shallow underhook control he uses to take Ura over the lines, despite his half assed slap down attempt. Takerufuji gets after it and chases Abi around the ring before shoving him off. Asakoryu and Ichiyamamoto have a slap fight until Asa lines up a slap down into a kotenage arm lock throw down combo that sends Ichi rolling off the ring. Gonoyama coming hard off the line and stands Yoshinofuji up with his shoulder but his drive is stopped and Yoshi eventually uses his left outside grip to work Gono around to the bales and out. Daieisho starts with nodowa against Kotoeiho and then changes up to a slap down where he almost runs out of ring but plants Koto on the dirt as he dances away. Neither Takayasu or Hakunofuji can quite get a belt grip at first but Papa manages to find an outside right for the overarm throw. Atamifuji meets Kirishima's tachiai but Kiri works his drive and gets the yorikiri that he follows up with a small dame-oshi. Aonishiki and Takanosho have a slap fight that Aoni wins for his kachikoshi. Roga's tachiai takes Kotozakura back but Roga tries for an underarm throw that only pivots their positions and the ozeki capitalizes to drive but Roga fights back off the bales and withstands Koto's slap down but not the next overarm throw. Fujinokawa's tachiai is as fast and hard as ever but Onosato bulldozes the smaller man and gets a left inside grip for the force out and his first win against Fuji. Onosato stands alone at 10 wins with 6 wrestlers lagging behind at 8. With 4 days left the ball's in the yokozuna's court. |

good maneuvering by Shishi, just needs 3 of the next 4 for kachi-koshi...
Yoshinofuji's only at 5-6, BUT most of his losses have been to sanyaku-ranked wrestlers: https://sumodb.sumogames.de/Rikishi_basho.aspx?r=12884&b=202609
dame-oshi... I hadn't noticed, but I assume you mean that half-closed hand to his face towards the end, huh? I guess there's still bad feeling between them...
I like this stance by Takanosho... almost as if he doesn't want Aonishiki to grab his belt, huh? Unfortunately for him, Aonishiki still figured out a way to win.
Aw, not_woody_shaw was right! Too bad, I was kinda hoping for a more interesting race. But it's GREAT to see Onosato in top form, the man is outstanding. |

Kotoshoho vs Churanoumi without donDon's slowReplay + explanations, i wouldn't have understood what happened there. Kotoshoho suddenly collapsed downwards
I think I missed that when I was fast forwarding through the live feed replay the first time. I didn't catch the headbutt to the chin either though. Sometimes the wrestlers just slip and I was focused on seeing exactly how his feet slipped so I missed Churanoumi's chin hitting Kotoshoho. Back a little over 10 years ago the Egyptian wrestler Oosunaarashi delivered a forearm blow off the lines that knocked out his opponent briefly and he crumpled a bit like Kotoshoho did here. |

Sadge. I wanted to be wrong. But also it's good to have a proper yokozuna back. |
