In Metropia, a gigantic city in an alternate future as seen from 1939, private eye Raymond Gunn (Sam Rockwell) and his alien companion Eyera (Tom Waits) are making a living on the edge of society, delving into secrets that some people would rather keep hidden away. After accepting a sleazy spy job related to pop-star Venus Nova (Scarlett Johansson), Gunn finds himself drawn into a murder mystery unlike any case he’s taken. A decades-long passion project by director Brad Bird (The Incredibles, The Iron Giant). |

Really unfortunate name after the breakdancer from Australia ruined it. Isn’t there some documentary also called Ray Gun coming out about her soon? This looks like a cool movie and it bodes well coming from the director of The Incredibles and The Iron Giant. Definitely have this on the watch list! |

Oddly enough, Netflix shouldn't have to worry about brand diffusion between this film and Olympic breakdancer Rachael Gunn - they just put out a documentary about her a few weeks ago. Untold Raygun: Breaking Badly (2026, dir Chapman Way and Maclain Way) |
