There's a Laotian restaurant right around the corner from me that serves really delicious food. The owner is an elderly lady who's so amazingly unfriendly that it's actually funny.

In the men's restroom, there's a sign hanging above the urinals that reads: "Flush, or else ✂️"

This exact thing happened to me in thailand in 2013. I got a really bad stomach bug and was having a hard time walking before I finally got to a pharmacy.

The pharmacist didn't speak English but he gave me a bag of pills and a note:

We have a Vietnamese restaurant with the same owner I guess. "You want German beer? No! Vietnamese! Coco rice for desert? No! You get pandan cake!"

The items might be out of stock, but she's so brutal in her decisions I wouldn't dare to ask.

The pandan cake is delicious though.

Same for me in Malaysia in 2015, but my flight back was scheduled for the next day. I did not take it, I was miserable.

Not much of east Asia uses forks. They're a mix of chopsticks and spoons.

I saw this on The Other Place earlier where the nurse was supposedly Chinese, and now it's made me doubt the entire story

That really sounds like the same owner. I’m always grateful for whatever food she grants me, especially since it’s always excellent, and I wouldn’t dream of not flushing the toilet—that would undoubtedly lead to the consequences stated on the sign; that’s as certain as death and taxes.

Would someone do that? Just go on the Internet and make stuff up.

Spoons are regulars with people who eat with chopsticks. Like, they know the concept of "soup", can't eat that with chopsticks.
