Not so fun fact: There is an actual condition which leads to the inability to recognize objects, called visual agnosia. People who suffer from it often adapt by analyzing the abstract shapes around them in order to cope.

Very interesting. Also the following is not directed at you OP, it's just a general shitpost…

InB4 a bunch of people comment that they think they have visual agnosia because they don't recognize X. In fact, they don't recognize certain objects because they have the life experience of a baby prawn and are hoping they are special and different from everyone else in some definable way.

But not you, dear reader. You are special, and your suspicions are valid and correct (agathawink.gif)

What do they call it when you look in the mirror and dont recognize what you've become?

I'd say our boy is experiencing an advanced version of the Tetris effect rather than brain damage – the joke being this is a result of being so overexposed to math.

Nah, that shit'll give you cancer in nothing flat —though that fact's admittedly tangential.

suspicions

≈ "conclusions supported w/ data recognized by the relevant scientific community."

Heh. Gotta love this timeline.😅

Have you ever looked at a word and the longer you look at it the more misspelled it seems? Like, that can't be the correct spelling of "suspicions", right? Also, unsupported belief was what I was going for. In the vein of "I Googled my symptoms and I suspect I have cancer"

You oughtn’t to yield to temptation. Well, somebody must, or the thing becomes absurd.

Ha! No worries, I know the feels. I've pulled more than my share of all-nighters to crank out whatever project last-minute... and get stuck staring at "the" or something, like it was hieroglyphics. 😶
