Post by Coyote JM Edwards So, let me get this straight. We're supposed to write, read, edit, proofread, format our books; make ads, maintain social media accounts, run blogs and newsletters, make fancy graphics; read other books and study writing - and still have time to write more books? Reply by Ben Winter You forgot the crying. So much crying.

The Ten of Swords tarot card. A person lies face down on the ground, draped in red fabric, with ten long swords piercing their back. Above them is a pitch-black sky, while a strip of yellow light glows on the horizon over a calm blue sea.

Not sure if I'm missing the joke here, but isn't this why you pay a publisher? I'm sure the cut they'll take will cover the crying.

I don't know, you imagine Sisyphus happy because he's been punished and has no choice and must suffer the consequences for defying the gods and trying to have a bit of happiness. Writers want to write, they just suffer for the process.

I don't know why I'm being so pedantic about this, but for some reason it bugged me.
