PlayStation has announced its new plans to shut down the PlayStation Store on PS3 and
PS Vita, starting in select markets this year.
Globally, the online storefront will be shut down in July 2027.

My understanding is that this is for purchasing content. Content you have on your account will remain available for download for now. Still it's a harbinger of the end times for those consoles, good job the jailbreaking and archiving for them is in a fairly good place.

Yes "stop killing games" but also hack that Vita today, easy as hell to do and you can get every PSVita, PSP, PS1, and PSM game, and DLCs, running on it off of a microSD card using sd2vita adapters, all downloaded directly to your Vita from [Redacted] for free, and you can also play a few ports like Fallout 1 and 2, Postal, and if you overclock it, even Half Life. There's also emulators for genesis, dreamcast, NES, SNES, N64, GB/C/A, and a couple others I can't remember. It fucking rules tbh.
