In the Phone app, in Settings > Watch > Display, there is a section called Ambient Light Threshold. This is used to check if the watch should turn on the system backlight when the environment is too dark. While the default value is 800, and can go up to 4100, honestly the range you want to play with is somewhere between 1 and 50. From playing around inside in the early morning, 9-14 is the sweet butter zone. Though if you think it's not turning on enough, you may get better results from 15-20. |
