Vilmantas Vitkauskas, head of Lithuania's National Crisis Management Centre (NKVC), told reporters on Friday that the two countries are analysing procedures, logistics and infrastructure capacity, with the plan to be finalised once the two governments reach agreement.

The announcement coincided with the start of mobilisation exercises in Lithuania, which include joint testing of cross-border evacuation procedures with Poland.

Vitkauskas said the SuwaƂki Gap holds major military and logistical significance, and that Polish involvement would raise the level of the drills.
