I hate Christmas because shit like this. I was looking for Halloween stuff last year and it had already been switched to Christmas. Halloween hadn’t happened yet!!!!

Usually first days of September. Might be a week early. Usually I'd buy some stuff right away. But my brain is good at remembering numbers, so I know they made it yet more expensive, ...again. So it's going to take me a while to give in and pay the ~>25% extra compared to a few years ago.

Also still need to buy copious amounts of Halloween candy for the kids in the neighbourhood.

Halloween really isn't that big here, I've had 1 trick or treater in the last 10 years. Am British

Hmmh. I live in Germany and I think it's down to the exact street. One or two streets away from me there isn't a lot of activity. We, on the other hand, have lots of families with kids live here, they'll put up decoration in their front yard, put on a costume and their kids will raid my street and the next one. Dunno, it somehow started and now we can't back out. And I have a hunch they brought some schoolmates from less candy-"privileged" neighbourhoods as well. That'd explain why it's so many. We're probably looking at something like 100-200 kids? I'll try to count them this time.
