One Handspring Visor of unknown model and one Palm Tungsten C. Both function, one lacks a charging cradle. I wish I could find another cradle for the C, I used to use it more frequently.

Back in my youth I used to have and regularly use a Palm LifeDrive as an MP3 player, I wish I still had it but it died of HDD failure.

That is the original Handspring Visor. Because its black it could be either the 2MB or the Deluxe which was 8MB. The 2MB only came in black. The Deluxe came in several colors at launch, with additional colors added in the years after launch.

I recently got fed up with trying to listen to my music collection on my phone and looked into getting an MP3 player. Turns out they're alive and well, just go by the name "DAP" now ( digital audio player) because they play all music formats, not just mp3.

Picked up a Fiio Echo last week for 100AUD and I'm very happy with it so far. Brings me back to the good old days of my iPod classic. Can even use it as a usb DAC for higher sound quality than the onboard audio on your PC.

i considered doing something like this, but haven't upated by mp3 collection since the 2005 because of music streaming.

where do you get new mp3's from and how do you keep your collection from becoming stale?

Soulseek for music downloads. I've been able to find anything on there, including obscure artists in niche genres that even Spotify didn't have.

I used to have Spotify but went through a rough patch and had to cancel all my subscriptions, which forced me to start my collection back up. I made a list of everything I listened to from Spotify to get it started. For the rest I mostly just keep up to date with artists I like and occasionally look for threads discussing the genre or similar artists for recommendations, or I'll let a YouTube mix do it's thing while I'm working and look into anything that stands out.

Triple J (Aussie Radio station) does "like a version" on their YouTube channel where they invite artists to cover another artist's song of their choice and I've found some really good ones through that.
