How many remakes do we actually need? How many Carrie films do we have now? 3 or 4?

How many different ways can you tell the same damn story?

Luckily nothing bad ever happens when you go far beyond the original story in an adaptation...

Counterpoint: Zach Cregger gave us the first actually decent Resident Evil movie and he is already right back to making an original film not an adaptation or remake.

He also managed to tell a different story.

Do you like Flanagan's other TV shows? We have plenty of adaptations of Hill House, but his is my fave. I don't even like Stephen King that much but I'll give this Carrie a go because it is by Flanagan.

Feelings seem to vary quite a lot on him, esp around the character monologues.

Hill House and Bly Manor were both brilliant. Midnight Mass was far too monologue heavy. House of Usher was brilliant.

I do enjoy Flanagan's work it just feels like Carrie has been done to death.
