The previous two DLCs the game received were really fun and both got 86% positive rating so my hopes are high for this one

... oh my.

Yea this is going to my shopping cart. Gotta dig my automated turret character out for action again

edit: turns out, steam claims dlc installed, but linux version of the game has not been updated to the 1.60.whatever version, it's still in 1.55 and dlc is inaccessible. Switching to windows version works, tho

A must play for any arpg fan. It's in my top 3.

I have to ask a question some ARPG players don't like for some reason - is there an option to use WASD for movement? I enjoy the top-down combat and the loot/leveling system that most games of the genre have, but I really dislike the classic mouse based movement.

Chronicon is one of those games that defaults to WASD (iirc) on mouse&keyboard. So, yes!

Maybe I should give the game another try, I felt too dumb the first time I played it

Diablo-like? This looks more like a vampire survivors type game?

Can't you use WASD/stick on most ARPGs?

Reading through the reviews, it seems like a good game despite the mediocre pixelart.
Will pick it up!

To be fair, both genres feature top down camera and a lot of visual effects

It's a fully diablo-like and very different from games like vampire survivors

Yes, unfortunately Linux versions of games sometimes suffer from slower updates or out of date input and other supporting libraries. Even heavy hitters like Hollow Knight have issues (some models of 8bitdo controllers not playing nice with some input libraries on the Linux version).

Edit: should have mentioned whatever engine the game used had out of date libraries for Linux specifically, so it was not really on the hardware.

yea, I'm aware. It's actually fairly baffling how stable windows' APIs are, generally like 20 year old windows game/application works fine on wine/proton. few years old linux game from steam? not so much. I have had this happen on few games now: Euro Truck Sim 2, Trine, probably some others but these came to mind.

Chronicon's linux version worked, no complaints there, but it just didn't detect the dlc in any way. And tbh I didn't even know there was a linux version until I started wondering why my dlc wasn't working :D

Anyway, game works & all is fine :)

They do have a survivors-like spin-off called Chronicon Survivors. Maybe you looked at the wrong one?
