Roeland Park and Prairie Village recently amended conversion therapy bans both cities had on the books in order to comply with a new U.S. Supreme Court ruling. Earlier this summer, Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach sent letters to the two northeast Johnson County cities and Lawrence, giving them 60 days to strike down city laws that ban conversion therapy — the discredited practice of trying to change a person’s sexual orientation or gender identity.
