Hugo and Bart were separated at birth as conjoined twins. Hugo as the left twin, was thought to be the evil twin and has lived in the attic all his life. I can’t remember the story but Hugo had a plan to reattach himself and Bart together - ultimately due to the location of the boys’ scars, it becomes evident that Bart is the left twin. Hugo and Bart swap places and Bart is left stuck in the attic while Hugo assumes his rightful place at the table eating with the family.
