Anybody else remember about two decades ago when Musk promised to do self-driving cars using cameras only becaue lidar was too expensive? Anyone else remember when everyone called him an idiot because lidar is the cheapest/only way to give a car depth perception? |

He’s too busy saluting Nazis and grifting on ai now to even care. Funny thing is that now LiDAR units are only a couple hundred bucks and small enough to fit above the rearview mirror. |
