In 2024, these voters were an essential part of the winning Republican coalition. Now, many feel abandoned and furious, complicating the party’s chances in November.

Sept. 30, 2026

Jessica Cantu Vuittonet, who runs a coffee shop in San Benito, Texas, cast her first ballot in 2024 — for Donald Trump. Two years later, after her brother was deported, she feels angry and betrayed.

Ariel Salinas, who owns a construction company in McAllen, Texas, can no longer reliably find laborers for his work crews. He blames the president’s immigration policies for his financial headaches.

In more than two dozen interviews across the region in recent weeks, Hispanic voters said they were furious over the president’s approach to immigration and the economy — the very problems they had counted on him to fix.

Buried down in the comments, is a reply by the reporter, Jennifer Medina, to a commenter:

These voters absolutely believed that they were included in Trump's version of America. They thought they could more easily obtain the American dream with Trump in the White House. It's also worth noting that some of this disconnect stems from different information eco-systems. These voters repeatedly heard about Trump's promises of a booming economy and a calm border, two things they wanted desperately. They heard far less -- or not at all -- about specific details about mass deportations and how those might be carried out.

There must be a Spanish right-wing propaganda ecosystem like Fox News, right-wing radio, and other media circulating down there.

or at least kept the racism parts out when campaigning to these voters

all from heresay too, im not surprised if one of thier english speaking friends/family just "translated the message to them from faux, or another right wing pundit. right wing-religious groups helping out hispanic immigrants might be another source.
