Tom Morello lives in California. His vote for president doesn't matter.

Amazing how they overlook this issue. Where I live I"m drowned out by MAGA. My vote literally doesn't matter but they'll then say good and demean you for pointing that out. God fuck liberals.

How is it "all thanks to Trump" when it happened under Biden? Oh right, you were a genocide denier when it was your team doing it

The thing is, trump was WORSE for Gaza though but y'all didn't care about that

The majority of deaths happened under Biden, you only think Trump was worse for Gaza because liberals were in doing everything they could to deny and downplay the genocide when they were doing it.

You realise you're doing exactly what conservatives want you to do? They know it's not possible to win your vote, so instead just convince you not to vote, and / or criticise your own side.

The Democrats aren't "our side".

It's because ultimately it's not actually about winning elections, it's about insisting that leftists bend the knee to the Democrats

More funding and more bombs.

That specific enough?

Trump does not care about the lives of some "brown people".

The point in not voting for Kamala is to put pressure on the democrats to stave off the authoritarian apocalypse they are delivering. It's not just stay at home and do nothing, but make your voice heard. Make sure people know what your demands are, organize with others. The dems are holding Trump as a gun to your heads saying "vote for me or else you'll get Trump" while bombing and killing in y...

Great pressure there.

How's that going for you?

They all originate from .ml

So what do you think?

Quite well, actually. Kamala or Trump winning would have resulted in the exact same outcome in Gaza. The vast majority of the Gaza deaths were during Biden's term. Trump's Gaza policy is "continue all of Biden's policies, but be more performatively cruel about it." So in terms of the actual impact on Gaza, Trump or Kamala winning made no difference at all. However, what has changed is that supp...

So you agree that the Gaza argument doesn't matter since both of them would bomb Gaza anyway?

Then why did you throw all these Trans and migrants in the US under the bus?

"...all due to Trump"

It's not like Biden had anything to do with... oh, wait what?

Well, it's not like Harris supported Biden's pro-genocide posit...... oh, what?

Well, at least the Democratic party gave the voters and actual choice as to... oh, what now?

...it’s not possible to win your vote...

Lets take a look at the requirements to get votes:

  • Be against genocide
  • Be against the bombing of children
  • Make healthcare on par with the rest of the first-world
  • Stop supporting Trump
  • Stop supporting rapists
  • Stop supporting masked thugs, from kidnapping, raping, torturing, stealing, and murdering
  • Stop taking money from the workers, and giving it to the rich

None of that seems impossible at all. It actually seems pretty easy to me. But the Democrats would rather help put Trump in power.

Why would it be any different for them? Israel was getting their bombs delivered either way

Because she could have been better, but we'll never know. Personally, I don't have faith in capitalists or neoliberals. I voted for her because it was the right thing to do, but I never thought she'd be a good president.

Which of those priorities are "mixed up"? They all seem pretty basic human-decency requirements to me.

The fact that you don't see them that way says more about you than I think you realize.

There's just so much to unravel in the premise of that comment, it seems impossible to have a rational discussion with you.

You think of selecting a candidate to vote for as you would select a life partner.

There are 2 viable candidates, one is an authoritarian child rapist intent who is doing incalculable harm.

The other is less-so.

Quite obviously, anything other than voting for the less-awful candidate supports the authoritarian.

It's great that you have a solid moral compass and that you're politically engaged and that you have empathy for your fellow man. Of course you should celebrate that by supporting worthy political objectives.

I don't see what's irrational about that. And I find it ironic that you've spent your time defending child-killers and genocidists, but think I'm "irrational" for thinking that those things are bad.

The other is less-so.

Slightly less-so.

Quite obviously, anything other than voting for the less-awful candidate supports the authoritarian.

That's not obvious. In fact, it's blatantly false.

The "less-awful" candidate spends a lot of their time supporting and building out things for the authoritarian. Of course, that's alongside the horrible things mentioned above.

Of course you should celebrate that by supporting worthy political objectives.

I do, that's why I oppose both the Democrats, and the Republicans.

Remember when the Democrats increased funding for ICE? Remember when Biden broke laws to help build out the border-wall? Remember when Obama built a system to drone-strike kids? Remember when the Democrats helped pass DHS spending? Remember when Obama and Biden did mass deportations? Remember when Obama increased funding for torture prisons? Remember when Biden set up Trump to continue a genocide? Remember when Biden was helping build out Cop City? Remember when Biden was having protestors arrested?

Those are just off the top of my head, there are plenty more.

This is a classic "both sides", demobilisation argument.

It shouldn't be surprising that both Democrat and Republican administrations undertake the same or similar actions while in government. The question is the extent of these actions and the intent in undertaking them.

No, it's an argument to put your effort into doing things that actually stop the evil people, rather than continuing to support them.

I think it should be surprising that they both do similar actions while in government. But I don't expect Libs to actually oppose them, as long as it's happening overseas, or to minorities.

I don't question the extent or intent at all. It's mostly the same, but using different subtlety tactics.

You mentioned Biden built "the wall" and funded ICE.

Are Trump and Biden's border control measures equally evil ?

Ok, great I guess. I'm glad you can admit to that - I didn't think you would.

I'm not saying this to try to be offensive, but I think of your position as similar to someone wearing a MAGA hat.

As in, your position is not the result of reason, so there's no logic-based argument that can resolve our difference of opinion.

Ah yes. You've yet to show any reason or rationality for your position. I've been willing to show every step of my logic and reasoning. But I'm totally the unreasonable one.

With the greatest respect, my point is that I don't find your assertions to be logical or well reasoned.
