Sundown summer is fading
Run now here the winter comes
Deep down in some snow drift
Frozen fire, you thought you'd found the lift

Show down it's a Mexican standoff
And the river she is the prize
Oh to float away on her current
To the sea lover
To the sea

And I know there's a song in the wind to the sky
And I know there's a song for you and I
What I don't know is if we'll hear it
I'm losing spirit
Baby sing to me_

I'm not dispirited, this moment, this is just the song that popped into my head. Weird, since I've neither thought of nor heard it in a couple or three decades.

it's a funny thing how memory works

Plus it's a badass song and the words fit the situation.

indeed
