It's a bot post, they just take whatever garbage is on reddit and repost it without any attempt at curation.

I'm pretty sure it isn't a bot seen as they comment from time to time but I do agree that I'm sick of the trash they repost constantly.

I mean, you or they could just block OP, but that wouldn't stop them from taking traffic from Reddit. Hell, I block people who post dick pics in spaces not dedicated to dick pics. I realise it won't stop them from doing that, but it's not my place to stop them. That's what moderators are for. I don't want to be a moderator. (I do run a community, but I haven't used Lemmy's moderation tools yet, and do not look forward to having to.) I just want to enjoy my experience here.

My issue is that these posts are universally garbage, they provide nothing in the way of background information, external sources or links that can be verified. Sure, I could block this specific bot account, but they've got multiple and do the same shit in other comms and I am a bit tired of playing whack-a-mole.

The arduous task of clicking the user, clicking the block button. Even if there were a dozen accounts, you could do it in less than two minutes and be done with it.

I'm pretty sure it took you longer to type your ranting about it than it would have taken you to block every account that seems to bother you.

It's automated posting so it's bot. They use a Firefox extension instead of an API but it's ripping and posting automatically.

This is one of their many bots. Sanitation, Time2lose, grumpus_maxinus, etc - all the same person running several different bots because they got banned in their original accounts.

My first thought: oh this is a classic photo from old Reddit.

Then I saw it was the bot called time2lose.

I appreciate seeing this again, but I fucking hate bots and AI.
