The rules say NSFW posts must be tagged, but when I try to tag a post as NSFW it says "NSFW Not Allowed"

I have some... bedrooms problems... that I'm trying to get help with, but I can't talk about them if I can't post an NSFW topic...

On your profile's settings do you have the "Show NSFW" option checked? That might be it.

I tried to mark a post NSFW years ago and it appeared to disappear because my profile was set to not show NSFW content, even my own. This may be how they implemented a fix for that, it just blocks the post from going through.

Check that setting. If the "show NSFW" box was unchecked it should probably post if you enable it.

It's your instance blocking it, not the community. You are on piefed.social, which doesn't allow NSFW content.

Then why is there an option for it in the menu? Ugh.. No I have to change instances again.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I never would have chosen piefed.social had I known about this restriction. Can you reccomend me a new instance?

When I do that it turns red and says NSFW not allowed

Edit: Wait found it, and it's on "show NSFW content" I think this instance lets me see it, but not post it

This is because when you make a post on another instance, the instance you're from is still responsible for hosting the NSFW content, right? I suppose they don't want to be responsible for that, so they just turn it off altogether? The error could be a little more descriptive about the cause of the issue.

FYI, blahaj.zone is a Sharkey/misskey instance.
