Seeing how badly 12.0 went for me I hope they fixed the Chromecast issues. |

I'm not a coder, but how can a bug like this survive up to the version 12.1 of any project? |

I will be doing this tonight. I was waiting for the bugs to be ironed out of the 12.0 release. Will report back with the findings Edit/Update: I'm happy to report that the update went very smoothly. The only thing I had to do different was remove my plugins before this update. Luckily all the plugins I did use were also updated to support version 12.x but I did have to reinstall them manually after the update. On the front end, performance is noticeably better on all my clients. Things just load so much quicker now and the experience is very smooth. In the back end, my full library scans didn't take nearly as long as they usually do. I did make a full backup of my 10.11.11 server just in case but glad to say I won't be needing it. This is such an amazing update! For reference, I did use this as a guide: https://jellyfin.org/posts/jellyfin-release-12.0/ |

It wasn't a bug, it's a feature that's now deprecated. |

What kind of library scan did you do? "Scan for new and updated files", "Search for missing metadata" or "Replace all metadata"? The release notes don't mention what exactly they mean by "full library scan". |

They only doubled it for you? Must be regional pricing, my subscription tripled. |

Worked like a charm. Remember to take backups beforehand in any case! |

I went to Admin Dashboard -> Libraries -> Scan All Libraries. I believe that does the "Scan for new and updated files" by default. According to this reddit thread, you only need to replace metadata if you're utilizing the new features like chapters in audiobooks.

I'm still on 10.11. I guess is best to do a few intermediate upgrades just in case? |

I'm right there with you. Your comment gives me some confidence on this front to stage the upgrade this weekend. |

Lazy me didn’t bother removing plugins. The upgrade disabled them and they updated as usual. I only have one external plugin though and that was already v12 ready. |
