Much like Steam Frame, Crystal Pro’s major focus is on wireless PC VR streaming, which Pimax says is built around its own Native Foveated Streaming tech.

PC VR streaming can be done via the included Wi-Fi 6E adapter, although the headset also supports an optional 60G AirLink kit, which uses a two-antenna, 2×2 multi-input multi-output (MIMO) design on the 60GHz band.

Pimax loves to jump on trends. They almost never release on time and love to offer preorders for products that never release.

Thanks for the heads up! Now there's two headsets I'd want but can't have. The VR market is absurd.

Nice display specs, at least in theory, but unless it's bootloader unlocked and fully open, I wouldn't put much trust in its long term viability. A device like this with SteamOS would make a nice upgrade to the Frame, however.

Isn't the foveated streaming done client-side? Through Steam? So anyone can just make a headset and it will work?

I'm just hoping steamOS is going to become a standard for standalone headsets instead of them all being android distributions with really bad software support. Kind of like how steam deck competitors used steamOS primarily.
