People like to work with people that look like them, so no surprise there. Women prefer to work with women, men prefer to work with men, and people of every ethnicity prefer to live and work among those of the same ethnicity. There's been about a thousand studies, plus all of human history to reflect on. The results are always the same: companies with diverse staff tend to preform better, but individual human beings feel the most comfortable when in the presence of people who look and act like them.
