Ik it's for clicks and solely in the headline but I must be a stickler about such things; Cracking may be hacking-adjacent but those two things are different. Hacking is infiltrating, cracking is manipulating, quite different if you ask me.
This part is fucking hilarious though, especially considering I've heard Denuvo is quite expensive and they only keep increasing their licensing fees. Although I'd be remiss not to mention the fact that Denuvo's actual purpose is indeed to stall piracy, they know they can't prevent it. Stop pirates from cracking their DRM for the most profitable few months of the game being out and I'd say most publishers are happy (even though that doesn't make any sense outside of the deluded mind of a shareholder). In this, in most cases, they are successful. Irdeto did recently update Denuvo once again, but I say their days are numbered. |

Yep, because whatever they do, at least the Hypervisor method is something Irdeto can't really do much about without massive investment (and even that isn't a safe bet). AAA Games will probably still use it, but everything below that will stop paying them. This in turn frees ressources to concentrate on the relatively few titles that still use it, reducing the time until broken. |

I can't wait for Discord, Valve, and Reddit to reveal voices38's identity, only to discover that the IP address is a VPN from a jurisdiction that doesn't give a shit about copyright. |

Given the genuienly astonishing capability of datacenter powered LLMs at reverse engineering and then recompiling games... There's basically no way that any closed source, client side, kernel level anti cheat is somehow immune to being ripped wide open. So... that entire industry, that entire category of software... basically doesn't make any sense anymore. People have been defeating kernel AC for a long time, but this is ridiculous, it wins the war. Like, the only actual option that kernel AC has at this point is to push for regulating access to such high powered LLMs, but, that basically can't make any sense unless liability is shifted to or established /somewhere/, either the hosting datacenter or the LLM model publishers, or some middleman (LLM insurance?)... It has to actually exist /somewhere/, though. And so far, the seeming entire purpose of LLMs from the C Suite standpoint is: we want a situation where we can do things and /no one/ is liable if anything goes wrong. My guess would be basically: chaos will reign. |

And then Denuvo lobbies the world governments to require identity verification for all VPNs since the they are being used for "terrorism." |
