In the Halloween episode of Community "Horror Fiction in Seven Spooky Steps" (S3E5), Abed's horror story has the characters waiting through Barry Manilow's "Daybreak" on the radio before hearing the warning about an escaped killer.

Aired 2ish years after ('09 vs '11), but I do like that the narrative trope was being called out for the nonsense that it is.
