101km for the day! Made the round trip to Picacho Peak and back. Mostly gravel, lots of busted asphalt.

Saddles are still a pain point for me. This was with a new Rockbros foam saddle. I have a somewhat thicker gel Rockbros saddle I need to try next time.

But truly, the worst part was the headwind, in both directions. 😄 It switches direction after noon, some (most?) days here in AZ. Glad I missed the storm on Sunday. I would have walked home.

So cool, glad you reached that goal! Man, years ago, I used to think of headwind as a welcome challenge. But now? Damn, I gear down and take it easy. At the very least, the sensation of the wind is usually nice, but good on you for powering through!

Looks like a beautiful ride!

Two words: Brooks. Saddle.
Get a leather one, treat it once a year with proofide. You'll never buy another one.

I likely a need a bike fit first, but I have nearly bought one online at least twice.

Congratulations and yes, bike fit first.

Awesome. I hiked to the top a few years ago with my wife. Awesome views and a really fun hike

Adding foams and gels to saddles actually counterintuitively makes saddles worse as you are adding layers that can shift and move around under you more which in turn actually causes more issues.

You are best off with a good quality sadly and a well fitting pair of cycling shorts. As you have mentioned in another comment a bike fit will be infinitely more helpful to you in combatting any kind of discomfort or sores that you get anywhere on your body than anything else :)
