I want to like this article. I’m not going to play games made with AI either. But this article is such a mess, even the ending punch is just an accidental self-own on the journalist/site founder. For context, this site disclaims at the top that all reporting is free until November 2 to “commemorate their launch,” and this kind of thing will cost £7.45/month starting in November. I could go on about how the article’s premise doesn’t make sense (even though I want it to!), or how he really could have just had one human read the article he wrote... or even re-read it once himself. But I’ll let the last two paragraphs verbatim speak for themselves.
I’ve sure am reading to room! Let’s close on this: If you can’t be arsed to read it, why would anyone pay you for it? |

I’m fairly sure I won’t subscribe to this after free period ends but I’m giving it a go in the meantime. So far the reporting has been delayed compared to free news outlets and even the “originals” are rather shallow. This is not much different to a dozen of similar sites that have been started by journalists with good credentials lately. All seem to want much more money than I could ever imagine paying for this kind of reporting. |
