As a fan of Life is Strange (but, I've only played the first three, I haven't played the two new ones yet), I love how in the first one, Max has the option to kiss a guy, and a girl. She's very obviously gay but she doesn't realise it (to be fair, she's like 18-19). So while you can kiss the guy, it's very clearly uncomfortable for her and she kinda just does it because you the player made her, and she's not happy about it. But with the girl it's different, it starts out kinda awkward but gives her the fireworks in her head (and elsewhere). You think you had the choice as the player to play her gay or straight, but the fact is she's gay and you have the choice to make her try to deny who she is, or embrace it, and it's a powerful difference in a game that practically defined the "choices matter" game. Your choice does matter, but you don't get to choose Max's sexuality, you choose how she reacts to the stimuli offered to her, and you deal with her feelings about it right there with her.

That's part of the reason I love this series.

Edit: For those who don't know, that's Max in the middle, and Chloe, the girl she can kiss in the first game, on our right (her left). I don't know who the other girl is. She might be Rachael, a girl from the prequel, Before the Storm, which I also didn't play.

Yeah, that's Rachel. They're also all in the comic series, which continues after Life is Strange and is the True Canon (not the two sequel games) as far as I'm concerned :)
