I blame Apple. (Full disclosure: I use Apple stuff. I'm typing on a Mac.) They actually made a legitimate blood sugar watch. Built it into an Apple Watch prototype. Then-CEO Tim Cook was using it, and he said it helped him make better choices of what to eat, as it updated in nearly real-time. That was like 5 years ago. Apple's been expected to bring the technology to market, which uses laser light to scan the blood through the skin, rather than a needle to read the blood itself, for years now, but they haven't done so. I blame Apple because they have the tech, they're sitting on it, and now other companies are trying to beat them to market, even companies that haven't figured it out yet. |

But had it been FDA approved? It may be that Apple isn’t confident enough in its accuracy to ship it, because in the USA diabetics will use it as their primary blood sugar monitoring solution. |
