Theme: Leathursday - Stag Trick. Most definitely leather themed. FTFA:

This one is masculine. Like really, really masculine. Like a “take an old, beat up leather jacket, drape it over a couple of tires to make a table and clean your guns on it” kind of masculine.

Daily Challenge: Soak up the Sun - Nope. It's about two hours from sunlight here, it's drizzling and around 50 degrees of Freedom. I stayed in the bathroom for this shave.

October 15th, 2026: Leather

Superb. Wholly Kaw is just plain old excellent. Super nice lather, and the scent on Cuero Oscuro is so good.

Cuero Oscuro or Dark Leather - A dark and very masculine scent for Fall and Winter. This scent is not floral, fruity or powdery. Leathery and smoky. A radical departure from our other scents. In developing this scent, we saw a fork in the road and we took it. Off the beaten path. Off to an adventure that took us to unexplored olfactory journey.

A masterful blend of leather, vetiver, cedarwood, tobacco, patchouli, oakmoss and coffee to top it off. Think of rawhide leather scent or boots.

This, along with Flying Hide (R.I.P.) are my two favorite leather scents. This one is silky smooth, strong, and the rest of the notes do a great job of supporting the leather, but don't get in the way.

Daily Challenge: it's a great day for it, but I did not shave outside.

Theme justification - This is, without question, a leather scented soap.

Relevant Post Shave or Frag - Seaforth! Leather is interesting to me because it's not just a leather scent. I also get a strong hit of coriander and bay. Cipresso e Bergamot's bergamot and bitter orange pick up the coriander from the soap and carry them to a warmer, muskier place.

Daily challenge - This challenge landed on a day where I barely had time to shave. I did not complete the daily challenge.

$FOF - Leather, coriander, and bay in the soap give way to bergamot, bitter orange, and a subtle citrus in the splash. Arance Mandarini (a dupe of Tom Ford Mandarino di Amalfi) brings a flash of lemon, grapefruit, and mint which dries down into orange blossom, vetiver, and amber.

It's not an obvious combination, but the differences in each really complemented the overall progression. Very nice.

I’ve been meaning to try this one, it sounds great.

2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.

This was a test shave of a Jnat edge on this Böker razor. I had a very comfortable and very close shave with it.

Maple Bourbon is a scent that I should definitely revisit more often. It's perfect for a shave right before cocktail time.
