DirectX12 is Microsoft's GPU API, most commonly used for video game graphics. It includes the HLSL language (which runs on the GPU to provide shaders). Unfortunately, DirectX12 is pretty complex. CUDA and OpenCL are both far easier to get into. But DirectX12's benefit is that it runs on Windows, across NVidia, AMD, and Intel GPUs. For better or worse, if you're thinking of a Windows / Win32 app, DirectX12 is probably one of your best options. |
