If you're currently considering on buying a new Graphics Card (GPU) for your computer it's advised to hold for now as:

We strongly believe you should not buy a graphics card right now. This is because we're expecting the announcement of next gen GPUs in the first week of January 2025. This is when the consumer electronics show takes place in Las Vegas and during the show we expect NVIDIA to announce the Geforce RTX 50 series and AMD to announce RDNA 4 based GPUs.
New graphics cards means the potential for new levels of performance at existing price points..and for improvements in price to performance at the very least and that could be anything from a minor gain to a modest gain based on the last couple of generations.

Again what this means is that customers who hold off on buying are more likely to have a larger window for better deals as the flood of newer GPUs should push the price of previous gen cards somewhat lower than the newest ones on the market.

If you're new to buying PC components please be advised in that I would highly recommend watching some GPU performance comparisons (such as GN's 7900 GRE review and comparisons) as otherwise you might accidentally buy a new GPU but with the performance of the previous series for a higher cost :/
