Won’t you heartless heathens think of the poor, underserved parkless among us? Parking-spot-less. See? The poor bastards don’t even have a word invented to label their suffering

Imagine needing a car when living next to the NYC subway.

The board’s rejection leaned on common NIMBY tropes — that is, that the “scale, height, density, and massing” of the 11-story project is not “compatible” with the surrounding neighborhood and would “fundamentally alter Bay Ridge’s established character and built environment.”

The board also cited “difficult parking conditions” in the neighborhood in its rejection.

Boo hoo. Things change. People need housing.

Most people don't need a car.

Yes, it's important to convert parking to housing.

Context: Some parts of south Brooklyn are conservative enclaves. You'll actually find Trump banners in some of these neighborhoods. Bay Ridge is purple, it kinda swings.

This sounds crazy. What a waste of prime real estate and subway resources.
